Arizona's premier Spanish Market marks the end of the two-month-long CALA , Celebraciòn Artística de las Am
éricas, a biannual festival celebrating Hispanic Culture in the Valley. Brilliant artwork more than 65 top Hispanic artists from Arizona and New Mexico highlight this new festive, causal and friendly annual marketplace.  With art in every price range, Spanish Market offers buyers a wide selection of objects from different Hispanic traditions including santos, pottery, colcha embroidery, furniture making, painting, printmaking and silver and tinwork. I will be there at my usual place (#78) on the beuatiful grounds of the Heard Museum exhibiting and selling my lastest paintings and 3D mixed media sculptures, along with matted prints of some of my most popular paintings. I will also have my signed,limited editon prints on canvas ready to be stretched and framed.

Celebrate the tradition, faith and artistry of Hispanic culture at the Valley's only Spanish Market featuring nearly 70 top Arizona and New Mexico artists.

This year, the museum is asking visitors/shoppers for a voluntary admission th the market. A donation of $10.00 or more will entitle adult visitors to also visit the museum exhibits. Seniors, children and members will be given museum entry for a lower donation fee. Any one who shows me their entry tickets will be able to deduct the amount of their admission from the price of any piece of my work or prints  Prices range from under $10 to more than $1,000 offering options for all budgets. Renowned artists like Kathy and Patrick Murillo, Larry Yañez and Martin Moreno, in addition to emerging young Hispanic artists, will be present for the two-day event.


The sounds of strolling mariachis greet visitors as they browse the unique offering of artwork and crafts displayed among the museum's arched colonnades and sculpture courtyards. And what is a marketplace without food? The cafe at the Heard Museum Phoenix will offer a menu of festive and traditional foods. Guests are also encouraged to visit the museums many exhibit galleries featuring Native American art.

Discover a new world this Columbus Day weekend, October 8th and 9th, as more than fifty Abiquiu artists open their studios from 10 AM - 5 PM to friends, old and new, during one of the most beautiful times of the year in Northern New Mexico. The Abiquiu Studio Tour is a self-guided, driving tour that takes visitors and collectors through the village of Abiquiu and the surrounding Chama River Valley---a landscape of imposing mountains, spectacular rock formations, and the glorious rivers of the Piedra Lumbra basin. Inhabited for centuries by Native Americans before and after the Spanish settled here in 1692, Abiquiu village is well-known internationally as the home of the renowned painter Georgia O'Keefe who made it her permanent home. A destination for visitors who come to tour her house in the village and visit nearby Ghost Ranch where she had a studio, the dramatic landscape that inspired her artistry has continued to attract a steadily growing community of traditional and contemporary artists.

On view will be a veritable timeline of arts and traditional crafts from the signature micaceous clay artworks of the region and Native American and Hispanic-inspired pottery, retablos, santos and furniture to contemporary paintings, sculpture, narrative and Southwestern works, photographs, jewelry, glass, ceramics, textiles, and wearable art.

The range and quality of the artworks, the spectacular landscape, and the welcoming atmosphere have made the Abiquiu Studio Tour one of the most well-attended and successful events of its kind. Experience the unique artistry of the region and explore the local color at this celebratory 12th Annual event. Abiquiu is located on US 84, about one hour's drive from Santa Fe or Taos.

Vail Arts Festival 2011

The Vail Arts Festival, renowned for its quality and variety of premier works of art, will celebrate its 28th year in 2011. This open-air street festival creates ambiance and entertainment for Vail guests in late June. The Vail Arts Festival is a juried event with mixed media artists in multiple disciplines. There are 75 leading exhibiting artists from across the nation, a majority of whom return annually, presenting in mediums including woodwork, sculpture, watercolor, oil painting, acrylic painting, drawing, metal, fiber, glass, furniture, mosaics, mixed media, jewelry, photography, and ceramics. More than 9,000 Vail guests, seven out of ten being out of state visitors, attend this three-day event.

ArtFest @ Art City Dallas 2011

Artfest is partnering with CityArts to showcase the finest artists from around the country. Artfest will take place over Memorial Day weekend in conjunction with CityArts at Fair Park in Dallas, TX. Artfest continues to be a juried art show, showcasing the finest artists from around the country and will continue to be an outdoor art show. Artists exhibiting outdoors greatly enhance the festive environment of an arts festival.

 Artfest is a juried art show that is free to the public and has taken place over Memorial Day weekend in Dallas, TX for the past 40 years. Historic Fair Park in Dallas, TX has been the primary location for Artfest. This annual outdoor art show is managed by an executive committee of professionals, who are also members of The 500 Inc., an organization of volunteers that has been raising funds to support the cultural arts of Dallas for over 60 years.

 CityArts is a free arts festival that was formerly held in the downtown Dallas Arts District. Due to the tremendous growth this show experienced, in 2010 CityArts moved from the Dallas Arts District to Fair Park and was held over Mother’s Day weekend in May. CityArts is a celebration of the arts featuring a variety of music, dance, and cultural performances on multiple stages; culinary demonstrations and wine tastings, free admission to world-class museums, exciting exhibits, and interactive children’s activities.

 

 

 

 

Carefree Fine Art & Wine Festival
